…is
situated on a smallholding in the West Coast region, between Piketberg
and Velddrif, about 180km north of Cape Town. It is nestled in the beautiful
valley of Kapteinskloof and is one of the oldest original Homesteads of
this area.
In
1988 the playwright Pieter Fourie started to renovate the houses, which
date back to 1831. Through his love and passion for old architecture and
his dedication to detail he managed to retain the sandveld character of
the homestead, which is both simple, yet charming.

When we, Marc and Kerstin de la Rue, discovered this
little Gem back in 2002, it was love at first sight and we have made it
our home since then - together with an assortment of four-legged family
members.
We
do farming on a very small scale, but mostly we enjoy our horses, dogs
and other animals and the simple lifestyle this place offers. Tranquility
and peacefulness seem to emanate from the whitewashed walls and permeate
the surroundings - qualities which we highly appreciate and which we would
like to share with you…
Enjoy
the country lifestyle, go for walks, bring your mountain bike, go for
a drive off the beaten track, admire the spring flower, take a swim in
our fresh, spring water pool or simply take a good book, find a spot under
a tree and let time pass you by…
